The Summercrisp Pear tree was cultivated by the University of Minnesota back in the 80's. This particular pear happens to be extremely cold hardy and typically begins to bloom in early May while ripening in August. It is also a low maintenance specimen due to being less prone to pests and diseases, fireblight having no effect on the Summercrisp Pear.  The Summercrisp Pear tree requires a pollinator from either the Bartlett, Kieffer or Bosc pear trees.
