Saijo Persimmon tree's produce a medium size persimmon that is best when picked and eaten after it is fully ripe.  It is also one of the more cold hardy varieties of asian persimmons around today. Saijo persimmon is one of the best cultivars and is self-fertile persimmon however if you plant another persimmon in its area, you will notice how much more abundant your yields of fruit will be due to the enhanced pollination.
