The Glenora Grapevine is the first black seedless variety. The seedless bluish black berries grow on loose, well-filled clusters. They have smooth, thin skin with sweet and spicy, highly-flavored flesh. The fruit is of a superior quality and it keeps well on the vine. Glenora has the odd trait of being a bit of a flavor-mixer. It can be foxy and very much American in character some years and very firm, meaty and much like the European Vinifera in other years. Luckily, both ways are just delicious! It is a highly vigorous plant with medium productivity, ripening in late August or early September, about 20 days before Concord. (USDA Zones 5-9)
